So if we want to be an official club (and be able to use INSIDE places to fight, easily), we need a Faculty Advisor and a constitution.
I propose we start thinking about the constitution, and renew our efforts to find an advisor!
I still have the paperwork that I picked up a while ago, so here are things to discuss/work out:
(Taken from Intent to Organize Form and Packet)
A. Purpose
1. How will your organization be defined?
2. What are your proposed goals?
3. What are you hoping to accomplish?
4. How do you fit in on campus?
5. What role do you want to play?
6. How will you pick an advisor?
7. Is there a department with whom you can or will be affiliated?
B. Membership
1. Are there other people you already know who would want to join?
2. How are you going to identify other potential members?
3. How will you convince them to join your organization?
4. What will this group have to offer? Can people find this elsewhere?
5. What kind of commitment will members have to make?
6. What makes this group unique?
These are just the first set of things to think about, and I have numbered them to make it easier to organize/sort through. Post your thoughts and ideas, and lets get a jump on it!!

Here is the Constitution Construction Guide:
"A constitution sets forth the purpose, rules, and structure of an organization. It is important that your prganization;s constitution be able to withstand year after year. Refrain from including information that may change, such as a specific amount for dues or a certain time for meetings."
Article I: Name
State the name of the organization.
(Stormhaven, chapter of Dagorhir)
Article II: Purpose
-concisely stated in a single sentence, must be distinguished from national organization
Article III: Members
-include membership eligibility and non-discrimination policy
-membership must be limited to BSU faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students
......-there can be different types of members (such as associate, honorary, active)
......-must be defined here, requirements must be stated (how many meeting attended and such)
-information on dues
Article IV: Officers/Advisor
-identify officer' title and role in the org.
.....-title, order of rand, how are elected, length of term, description
-role of advisor
Article V: Executive Board and Committees
- Identify exec board
.....-any sub committees listed here too
Article VI: Meetings
- meeting day (example "The org. shall meet twice a week")
......-stating a specific day means changed the constitution every time it changes
-Define a quorum for meetings
......-"minimum number of members who must be present at the meetings of a deliberative assembly for business to be legally transacted"
Article VII: Parliamentary Authority
- "An organization should adopt a book of parliamentary procedure ... to be the guide ... for their org."
Article VIII: Amendments
- identify process for amending constitution
......-should have a higher quorum than in article VI
BYLAWS
"Most orgs. do not need bylaws, rather the information can be incorporated into the constitution itself. However if the org. has bylaws, sectins should deal with the following:"
1. detailed material concerning members (rights, duties, resignation, and explusion procedures)(provision for honorary, associate members, ec)
2.inititation fees
3. time and method of officer elections
4. duties, authority, and responsibilities of exec board
5. names of standing committees, method for choosing chairmen/committee members
6. provision for some accepted rules of order or parliamentary manual
7. number or proportion constituting a quorum
8. a method to amend the bylaws, usually a majority vote
----
We do not have to follow this format exactly; only have the information specified.
