We need to get approved for club status. I don't know what needs to be done, or how to do it. I'm not a Ball State student and have no control over this. I am more than willing to meet with students and faculty to discuss and explain who we are and what we do. I'm more than willing to write applications or whatever, but I can't officially start a club at the school. You guys find out what needs to be done, and I'll do whatever I can to help.

EVERYONE WHO IS A STUDENT AT BSU NEEDS TO HELP FIND A SPONSOR.

ok... so i have a packet of info on how to start a club (and if zalos has one too, we have two).
We need to till out a simple form, that includes the advisor, and a constitution. It doesn't seem that hard, and I'd be willing to get together to work on it (any day but Thursday)... What do ya'll think?
And by the way, non-BSU people cannot be "members" of a BSU club. But we can have honorary or associate members.

Make sure the proff's know that we define what their role is in the constitution. So if they don't really want to be active, that is fine too!

Jin's busy and has a girlfriend, so he can't Dag as much as he once did.
Lotta's right...the sponsor doesn't need to lift a finger. Let alone a sword. They don't need to participate; they need to be willing to speak on our behalf. We'll keep them informed and updated, and they'll know what they need to know to be the sponsor. An active participant would be better, but we're quite capable of running our own practices, filling out our own fund request forms, and shmoozing without them.

No, Zalos was right. I'm just too cool for you cats. But really, this year/semester has been crazy busy and when I finally get some free time I prefer to spend it with my lady or just generally enjoying nothingness. Though with this nice weather, if I ever get caught up with things you might convince me to shave Alric's back or something... sounds like alric has himself a date!!!

Alric went through Army Basic with a guy from Tajikistan. Tajikistan was part of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was controlled by Russia. Jin has a girlfriend with a Russian name. Vodka shouldn't be drunk before you drive. Kevin Bacon drives a car.
Six degrees of separation, bitches!

Security guard? You mean the maintenance guy acting like a rent-a-cop? I don't have a rape van, but I do have a junker that gets me from A to B. Just thought we'd take a nice walk, for old time's sake. Alric

Lotta said she found a professor that onced larp'd that she could ask to be our guy. However, I dont think club status is such a great idea b/c of the whole they own our stuff thing. But I think it may be the only way for Stormhaven to keep on living once some of us leave. WHat you guys think?

But what do you think about the club issue itself. pros and cons: con: they technically would own anything we make using thier money, which makes sense. pro: becomes an official part of bsu and thus may be passed onto future students to control.

Here's the thing...
When we get funding for various activities, we use it to either purchase weapons or materials to make them. At the end of the event for which these were consumed, the weapons are donated to the Muncie Chapter of Dagorhir Battle Games Association, Inc. So SH, not the BSU Dagorhir Club, owns the weapons.
I say we do it if we can.

Hmm, and i guess we could get sponsering from other places like, best buy and get prizes and stuff as long as we put thier logo somewhere for an event/tourny or whatever.

We could try to get some sponsors. I'm thinking Bob's Comic Castle or the Wizard's Keep, since they carry "nerdy" stuff and would appeal more to our particular social group.
But there is a lot of funding to be found through SGA, RHA, and other BSU sources, especially once we achieve club status.

I just got up here and haven't really been privy to the whole discussioni...or just haven't been paying proper attention...I don't know. Either way, could we make like a checklist for what we have and have not gotten done for club status?
