elads.biz/samu1st.jpg I already asked Jin if he thought this was legal, but he wasn't entirly sure. Could someone please help me out and tell me if this armor is legal and if I can double it as my garb. Thanks to all that help. -Vinsfield-

other than the hands, it should all be legal in design. you can't have metal armor on the hands, like the thick rings on the fingers. The elbows might have to be redesigned due to the metal but would probably pass most places because it is just rings. thickness is another factor. the leather has to be 3/16" thick throughout to be legal, which I can't tell from here. You would still have to wear garb under the armor, which could be as simple as a T-tunic (Takes 1/2 an hour to make by hand, maybe 10 minutes with a sewing machine) and neutral colored sweatpants. you could probably even get away with cutting the hems off an old T-shirt and wearing that under it as long as you couldn't see any logos. If you do get it, make sure that:
1) it's 3/16" of an inch or 12-15oz. leather 2) The metal is a period metal and not aluminum 3) from the picture, I can tell you're going to have to double up on the underarm part of the upper arm armor (not the pauldrons), and on the thigh armor
Hope this helps!

Speaking of looking awesome, I love your boots. Asolo Fusion 95's if I'm not mistaken. My roommate has the same pair. I also have Asolo boots. Gore-Tex rocks my world!

Asolo's are amazing. I need to re-waterproof mine. After being out in the West hiking for a month and about 2 years of abuse, they're finally ready for a new coat. That's amazing that you remember my boots of all things though...

They're IDENTICAL to my roommate's old boots. I meant to say something, but you were fighting right then, and I was semi-busy.
My waterproof is okay, but I need new tread.

When I first got mine, I was out at a lake and didn't eevn realize that I was standing in 6 inches of water. the waterproofing was that good.

My roommate showed me a trick while we were on a climbing trip in Kentucky once. If you dip your boots in water, they'll cool your feet, which cools the rest of you. Flippin' shweet.
