Have you ever seen a female dwarf? Not many other races have, because most females do not go out adventuring (at least where I'm from). That is because in Tyrra, only about 1 in every ten births produce a female, making me special. My father talked to me for a very long time before he let me leave home to adventure. He said that in some races, men can be rude. Thankfully, I have not had to encounter that much. When I do, it makes me very upset; there is no reason to be rude to women. Who brings life into this world, anyway?
But back to me. I had not been adventuring long in Tyrra when I went through the portal to here. Compared to most, I am very unexperienced. I have only been alive for 46 years, though I feel as if my aging has sped up since arriving at Mittelmarch (and since traveling to Stormhaven afterwards). My father is a weapon smith, and his craft has had me mesmerized since a young age. A good weapon can keep my attention for hours on end! My mother, on the other hand, would rather protect than hurt someone, and she crafts armor. Before I left home, she had begun to instruct me on the way to make chain mail. I have (or at least had when I left my world) ten brothers. My mother was with child the last time I had heard from her, and everyone was hoping she would bare another girl. By our standards, that would have been rare because I am the second youngest. But boy or girl, the new baby would be loved anyway.

Thank you, Zalos. And as for "more", I am not quite sure what else of my life to post. Anyone have questions for me?

Dwarves are traditionally very clannish. Do you know your father's name? And his father's name? And so on and so forth for a hundred generations?
What is your clan name? Symbol? What did they specialize in? Are you Hill Dwarves, Mountain Dwarves, or what?

I apologize, I did not realize you wanted my entire family's history as well. And of course, I know my father's name. He is Alvis Andvari, and his father is Hreidmmar Andvari, and his father is Ivar Andvari, and I could keep going, but I am sure no one wants to hear any more of my grandfathers!
As for my direct clan, or immediate family (as Balkoth calls them), I have ten brothers (and a sibling I have not met yet!)
Here is my attempt at a direct clan map! In bold are my siblings, with their wives name in parentheses (or what they are doing), and their children below that.
..................Haldis and Alvis.................... ...Hreidmar.......Hakon..........Haral...... ......(Eir)............(Gerda)........(guarding)... Elvis, Esbern,...Gus, Garton,.................... Elan, Elkon........Gustav........................... ....Holmar...........Hallam.......Holger....... ....(Inger)..........(farming)...(Norna).......... Inga(F), Ingemar,.............(pregnant........ Ingvar, Ingne, Ingger....... when I left!)....
.....Haldor.......Halsten..........Lotta.......... ....(Unni)...(adventuring)...(HERE!!!)......... (no children)............................................
Halvard & Hamar..........Vigdis(F) or Halmar (Still at home, little children).(New baby!)
*NOTE: my family is very non-traditional when it comes to naming, but not all from my lands are as such.

(I wanted to get that posted before it messed up again.) As for your other questions, Alric:
I thought I had already mentioned what my family specializes in, but again my mother, Haldis, is exceptional at armor making and my father, Alvis, is a wonderful weapon smith. Each of us children have specialized in one of these areas, and we are well known for it. I am the odd duckling (like always), and I am passionate about making both. Hopefully that answers your question!
As for our coat of arms, I shall show it to you soon (ooc: as soon as i make it!). It is quite beautiful.
"Are you Hill Dwarves, Mountain Dwarves, or what?" I do not think I understand this question. My village is in the mountains, but so are all of the other dwarf villages in Tyrra. I can only assume that in other lands, dwarves live in other places.

I didn't mean just your family, I meant the whole clan. A clan is a group of dwarves by location, usually named for their king. The Goldhammer dwarves are mountain dwarves. Their King, Gerni Goldhammer, is the twelfth king in the clan's two-millenia history.
Mountain dwarves live in mountain ranges, while hill dwarves live in lowland areas. Both are known to live above and below ground, but mountain dwarves are more commonly deep in the mountains, due to the natural cave structures, which they modify to fit their needs. Hill dwarves usually live in shallow, dwarf-constructed caves, and function aboveground a little better than the typically subterranean mountain dwarves. Some mountain dwarf clans are so reclusive, they sell their goods through a hill dwarf clan nearby.
Almost every dwarf is a skilled craftsman, and many clans have a specialty. The Goldhammer dwarves live near a vast deposit of gold ore, and are known for their decorative (though still very functional) weapons and fine leaf-work.

But, in my village, we are divided up by families. And, yes, I do know everyone from my village. it is something similar to the units here. This is just a difference between lands.
"What makes a Clan: In general there are two types of clan, each type is a gathering of families, but for different reasons. The first type is made up of members of the same family. When a family grows extremely large and extended, it will often decide to form a clan to keep itself together. The clan will usually take the same name as the family. These are called familial clans. When such a clan forms the family patriarch will generally become the clan chief. Other families may join a familial clan by marriage, and some may opt to join by rite of inclusion. The second type of clan is generally composed of many families. They come together for a common purpose. The name they take is generally indicative of their purpose. For example Clan Trollblade is a clan founded in the Tower Hills of Trellheim for the express purpose of killing the trolls of the area. These clans are called dedicated clans."
-As told by the elders to those coming of age. (Taken from the Nero Dwarven Handbook)
